We are so happy to invite you to our 2018 Ashtanga Sunshine Retreat!!
Located in the La Canada area of Valencia, you will be surrounded by a sense of calm in the leafy suburbs creating a beautifully quiet and peaceful place to relax, practice and to really take a break from the world! 

This retreat can be made to suit your wants and needs!  As we will be located only 5km from the City of Valencia you could go exploring the City life this retreat can offer that Urban Yoga Retreat vibe, with all the freedom to come back to the Villa for yoga, food and rest whenever you like! OR if you are more interested in ‘getting away from it all’ this retreat can offer the sanctuary of a Rural Yoga Retreat vibe – relaxing in the Villa by the pool, surrounded by nothing but nature to allow yourself to immerse in self love and time to rest.

The Retreat

A typical day on this retreat will be waking up to morning yoga around 8am for 90 mins of Ashtanga Vinyasa practice. Followed by a wonderful continental breakfast prepared on site by our very own Spanish chef for the retreat! You then have the day to do with as you please, we can help organise exceptions/ trips away from Villa if requested or you can spend the day lounging and reading by the pool – anything you want! In this time we can include the optional 1:1 Yoga sessions with you if you request. Closing the day all together – meeting back at the Villa for 5pm for 90 mins of Restorative yoga, meditation and pranayama practice. Dinner will be around 7pm/8pm –  2 courses Healthy, Vegan Homemade meals (again cooked by our very own Spanish chef!)

The Area

Valencia is one of the most vibrant, forward thinking and cosmopolitan cities in Spain. It is a beautiful historic city, from the cultural old city to the stunningly modern City of Arts and Sciences. A beautiful part of this wonderful city (not to be missed) is the old town- El Carmen. This area is the home of important buildings including the cathedral, the art deco food market and the ceramics museum. There are 13 km of golden sandy beaches, also parks and gardens throughout the city offering tranquility and beauty. The dried up River Turia park which runs for 8km through the city is perfect for seeing the city on foot or bike. We can provide more information on site about where to visit and how to get around from the Villa into City.

The Yoga

Our morning practices of Ashtanga Yoga is a style of yoga with a set sequence, set gaze, set bandhas (energy locks) and set breath. It is a dynamic style with many vinyasas where you will synchronise your breath with movement to produce that internal heat designed to purify the body and create sense of awareness. This practice can really be a type of meditation when flowing through each pose in the sequence.

Our evening Restorative yoga practices will be designed to stretch and release tired muscles, relax the mind and body incorporating pranayama practices (breathing work) and meditation to send you into your evenings blissfully and with a sense of self love and rest.

The Teachers



Rachel is the co-founder of Humblebee Yoga Retreats and Padmini Yoga. She started practicing yoga in 2011 when working as an actress in London. She is now a 500 hour Yoga Alliance Certified teacher. Her first training was in Dharamshala, India in Classical Hatha and Yin, her second training was in Mysore, India in Ashtanga Vinyasa. She teaches regular classes around the West Midlands area and has regular following of students who enjoy her traditional approach to yoga, dedication and passion towards this logical, scientific and spiritual practice.



Karina is a 200 hour Yoga Alliance Certified teach in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. She trained in Varkala, India and teaches regularly in the West Midlands. She has a following of students who go for her knowledge, passion and her approach to Ashtanga teaching allowing each student to find their way in each pose with gentle guidance.

* This Yoga Retreat is suitable to those who have a regular yoga practice (you do not have to have practiced Ashtanga before.) 
* It is not suitable for beginners to Yoga – Beginners to Ashtanga are welcome.
